Dutch Airlines is not the only company that will "fall the sky" into waste oil. According to public information, in 2011, Thomson Airlines of the United Kingdom also tried to change the fuel in one of the engines into fuel oil processed from waste oil to achieve successful sea trials; in June 2012, Dutch Airways’ “waste oil†The flight began to fly on the intercontinental route.
Why doesn't the Chinese company's refining oil "feed" Chinese planes? Is the company unwilling to do because of the high cost of refining, or is it a technical problem?
After interviewing the reporter, it was found that there was no large-scale promotion, which was mainly related to three reasons:
First, the technical maturity is not enough. According to Dirk, the “biodiesel No. 0†to the aviation bio-kerosene needs special treatment and the process requirements are high. The reporter found that many environmental protection companies in China can treat waste oil into “No. 0 biodiesel†for use as fuel oil for ships and automobiles, but upgrade “No. 0 biodiesel†to aviation organisms for direct use by aircraft. Kerosene, the technology is not mature.
Second, the conversion cost is higher. At present, it is still in the experimental stage that the waste oil “God†is not being promoted on a large scale because of the high cost. According to Dirk, the burning value of aviation bio-kerosene is basically the same as that of ordinary fuel, but the production cost is high. It has been about three times that of traditional fuel. Nowadays, the company imports a large amount of waste oil raw materials, and the partners work together to reduce costs. But the cost is still above traditional fuel.
Third, the raw materials are insufficient. Zhang Ying, executive director of an environmental technology company in Shanghai, said that compared with the “guestless†oil-collecting “guerrillasâ€, the price of biodiesel disposal companies buying raw materials is not attractive, so some small catering companies will sell waste oil. After giving the "guerrillas" the final return to the table, the formal enterprises were "not enough to eat."
From this point of view, there is still a long way to go before the real amount of waste oil can be produced.
