Russian media: China's copper consumption may rebound in the next few years

Russia’s Interfax reported on February 28th that Nexans SA, the company’s second largest cable and wire manufacturer, said that the demand for renewable energy and specialty industries has increased rapidly. China’s copper consumption demand may rebound in the next few years. China is the world’s largest consumer of copper, and the power sector’s demand accounts for about half of the total consumption.

China’s copper consumer demand growth this year is expected to be 4.7%, which is expected to be 6% to 7% in 2013-2014.
