3 Verification of calculation results of displacement field of argon arc spot welding

The material used in the experiment is LY2 aluminum alloy, the test piece size is 120×120×2mm, the welding method is TIG spot welding, the welding current is 80A, and the welding voltage is 12.8V. The welding displacement field measurement method is laser electronic speckle interferometry. The experimental fixture is shown in Figure 3.

Figure 4 is a comparison of the calculation results of the TIG spot welding displacement field with the actual measurement results obtained by laser electron speckle interferometry (illustrated as 1/4 of the full displacement field). It can be seen from the figure that there is a certain error between the experimental results and the calculated results, which may be caused by the following reasons:

1. The high temperature thermophysical and mechanical properties of the material are

The calculation error caused by the extrapolation method and the actual data does not match;

2. In the numerical simulation, the heat source is strictly applied to the center of the plate, but in actual experiments, it cannot be accurately positioned, and the arc cannot be strictly perpendicular to the workpiece. Therefore, the calculation result of the displacement field is affected.

4 Conclusion

In this paper, the actual measured welding dynamic displacement field of laser electronic speckle interferometry is compared with the finite element calculation results. The results show that the calculated results agree well with the measured results. This shows that the model of the dynamic displacement field of the welding process established by the elastoplasticity theory is correct.
