Qinghai Province expects aluminum processing capacity to reach 1.789 million tons at the end of the year

Since the issuance of the "Implementation Opinions on Implementing the "Guiding Opinions of the State Council on Resolving the Contradictory Problem of Serious Overcapacity" by Qinghai Province, according to the actual conditions of industrial development, our province will produce electrolytic aluminum, cement, iron and steel (ferroalloys, silicon carbide), photovoltaics and The glass industry, as the focal point for resolving the contradiction of overcapacity, insisted on transforming the development mode as the main line and the resolution of the contradiction of overcapacity as the focus of industrial structure adjustment and optimization, focusing on the merger, reorganization, elimination of backwardness and technological transformation, and promoting the overcapacity industry in our province. Improve the quality of development, enhance the competitiveness of the industry, and promote industrial transformation and upgrading. The data show that from January to May, the energy consumption of industrial units in the province increased by 6.66% year-on-year, with a year-on-year increase of 1.81 percentage points.

In the first half of this year, the electrolytic aluminum enterprises in our province have completed the energy-saving technological transformation of the new cathodic steel bars of 489 electrolyzers and completed 41% of the annual target mission. A group of companies including Qinghai Xinhao Aluminum Co., Ltd. and Qinghai Baolihua Co., Ltd. were introduced to implement aluminum deep-processing projects. It is estimated that by the end of the year, an additional 95.7 million tons of aluminum processing capacity will be added, and aluminum processing capacity will reach 1.789 million tons, of which high added value. The product capacity is 800,000 tons, accounting for 44.7%. Encourage and support aluminum and water direct supply cooperation in Ganhe Industrial Park, Datong, and Minhe District, Xining Economic and Technological Development Zone, where electrolytic aluminum and aluminum processing companies are more concentrated. Up to now, a total of 1.43 million tons of aluminum water supply contracts have been signed between upstream and downstream aluminum companies, and the proportion of aluminum water conversion has reached 53.5%.
