The third test data and the subsequent disassembly test results show that the electrical, hydraulic and idling performance of the main pump meet the requirements of the specification. The surface condition of the thrust bearing is in line with expectations, and the pre-tightening force of the fastener is kept good. Westinghouse and EMD confirmed that the design modifications to the AP1000 main pump were effective and the performance met the design requirements. The same main pump will be used in China's supporting projects, Zhejiang Sanmen and Shandong Haiyang, and will also be used for four AP1000 units under construction in the US VC Summer and Vogtle. The former is the first AP1000 unit built in the world. The original unit is planned to be connected to the grid in August 2013 and February 2014 respectively.

National Nuclear Technology said that the main pump design and manufacturing technology is one of the main contents of the US EMD company's AP1000 technology transfer. At present, the domestic Drum and Harbin Electric have mastered the main pump manufacturing technology through the digestion and absorption technology transfer file, software and subcontract manufacturing practice, and can be used for the subsequent AP1000 project.
