Microwave drying technology is a new type of drying technology that is highly efficient, energy-saving, environmentally friendly, safe, and bactericidal. It can be widely used in food, chemical, building materials and other fields, but it has been introduced into the textile drying field for the first time in the world. According to Chen Qifan, chairman of Shandong Kangpinna Group Co., Ltd., one of the R&D partners of the equipment, compared with traditional technology, microwave radiation drying can achieve the characteristics of small color difference before and after the color of the yarn, high strength, and short heating time.

Printing and dyeing is almost the most energy-consuming part of the traditional textile industry. As a final step in dyeing, drying also wastes a lot of moisture and heat. “Microwave drying is the second upgrade of radio frequency technology and represents the development direction of future drying.” said Lu Qingfu, deputy general manager of the Kempner Group. For the microwave radiation problem that many experts are concerned about, the solution of “CMW-80 Microwave Dryer” is “Absorption and Shielding” — specially designed absorption and protection microwave devices are installed in order to prevent microwave radiation from harming the human body. The research and development of this equipment is based on the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" support program of the Ministry of Science and Technology for the "Digitalized Automatic Yarn Dyeing Complete Equipment" project, which has been applied in some textile enterprises in Hebei and Shandong.

The "CMW-80 Microwave Dryer" lasted two years and was developed by Kangpinna Machinery Co., Ltd. and the Machinery Research Institute.
