"We slim down" for DWG files in Zhongwang CAD

Zhongwang CAD uses the DWG file format. If you want the daily large DWG file to achieve slimming, you can use the PURGE command to delete all the blocks, layers, and line types that have not been used in the graphics to reduce the file. If the file is only used for transmission to the other party for viewing or permanent archiving, you can also do the following work before using the PURGE command: 1. Explode the block inserted in the graphic so that the graphic does not contain the block at all; Elements on the same type of layer are all placed on one layer, reducing the number of layers. In this way, more tiles and layers can be made unused, which can be deleted by PURGE and the file size can be reduced. With the PURGE command, it is convenient to use the option All (type parameter a). An example is as follows:

Use the WBLOCK command to generate a new graphic file in block mode and use the newly generated graphic file as a transfer or archive. So far, this is the most effective "weight loss" method I have found. A concise example is as follows: Command: wblock (Enter the file name and file storage location in the pop-up dialog box. Since it is very simple, the dialog box graphic is omitted here)

Select objects: (Enter after the selection)

Command: This will generate a new graphic file in the folder you specified.

Comparing the above two methods, each has its own length: it is easy to operate with the PURGE command, but the effect of “weight loss” is slightly worse; the biggest advantage of using the WBLOCK command is that the “weight loss” effect is good. The biggest disadvantage is that the newly generated graphics cannot be modified (even Save it without making any changes, otherwise the file will become bigger again. The author used two methods to streamline and compare the effects of his DWG file. The reduced file size is almost within 5K. Readers can decide which method to use based on their own situation.

Before the transmission of the DWG file, the application of WINZIP compression, the effect is very good, almost only the original 40%!
