Macquarie Port Mining and Alcoa Achieve Aluminum Salt Slag Processing Agreement

Comprehensive Sydney News December 21 report: Macquarie Harbour Mining Ltd. (Macquarie Harbour Mining Ltd.) said on Monday that it has reached a cooperation agreement with Alcoa on the processing of aluminum salt residue.

The agreement lasts for 3 years, during which the company will process 33,000-39,000 tons of aluminum salt residue, while Alcoa will pay it AUD 300 per ton.

Aluminum salt slag is a kind of waste generated during the aluminum recycling process. The traditional treatment method is to dispose of it in the garbage dump. However, due to the adjustment of legal provisions, the waste cannot be arbitrarily disposed in the garbage dump.

This month, Alreco Pty, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Macquarie Port Mining, said that it had agreed to purchase related factories and equipment and infrastructure land and buildings from Sims Aluminium Pty.
